Build & measure
Custom builds and AI automations for the work that eats your week.
AI automation for a small service business means taking over the office work that eats hours every week: entering leads, following up on quotes, confirming appointments and pulling the weekly numbers. Kojo Growth builds custom web tools and automations for this: quote calculators that also capture leads, booking tools, customer portals, job dashboards, and connections between the tools you already use. Everything works on a phone, with no app-store apps, and runs on accounts you own.
- A scoping call that turns “this takes forever” into a one-page written spec
- A fixed quote and milestones you approve before the build starts
- Each stage tried by your office on live jobs before we move on
- A short guide and the logins at handover, with optional support after

Why it matters
Most office work in a trade business is the same five tasks, repeated by hand.
Somebody types the same estimate from scratch for the twentieth time. Somebody copies a lead from a form into the job software, then a spreadsheet, then a text to the tech. Somebody answers “can you give me a rough price?” at nine at night. None of it is skilled work, and the most expensive person in the business usually does it. A small custom tool, or a connection between the tools you already have, gives those hours back.
- 1
Quotes typed from scratch
If your pricing follows rules (size, material, access, distance), a calculator can draft the first pass, on your site for customers and in the office for staff. You approve the final number.
- 2
Tools that don't talk
The website form, the job software, the accounting tool and the texting app all hold the same customer, typed in four times. A connection moves it once and keeps everything in step.
- 3
Questions at nine at night
“How much for a two-car garage?” “Are you open Saturday?” “Can I book online?” A booking tool and a few automatic replies, in wording you approved, can handle these after hours and log the lead with its source.
An example
What a Kojo automation looks like
A quote request from a calculator on your site, handled without anyone retyping it: the lead lands in your job software with the numbers the customer entered, they get a reply with open slots, and your dispatcher gets it on their phone.
New quote request
- 1
Calculator submitted
Customer enters the job details on your site and sees a rough range
- 2
Lead created
Added to your job software with the source and the numbers they entered
- 3
Reply sent
A text and an email go out with the next open slots, in wording you approved
- 4
Office alert
Your dispatcher gets the lead on their phone with one tap to call
- 5
Follow-up scheduled
If nobody has booked by the day you chose, the quote follow-up sequence starts
What's included
What you get with custom builds & automations.
Everything below is written into the plan before any work starts, and reported on every month.
Quote and estimate calculators
A calculator on your site that turns job details into a price range using your rules, then captures the lead. The same logic inside the office so staff quote faster and more consistently. You keep the final say on every number.
Booking tools
Online booking that shows live availability from your calendar or job software, takes the details you need, confirms by text and email, and blocks the slot. Built to work on a phone with one thumb.
Customer portals
A page where customers see their quote, approve it, pay a deposit if you take one, track the visit and find their invoices. Fewer “just checking in” calls for your office.
Lead and job dashboards
One screen that pulls leads, quotes, booked jobs and revenue from the tools you already use, by source and by week, so the owner sees the business without opening five apps.
Connections between your tools
Your website, job software, lead-tracking software, accounting, texting and calendar connected so a record is entered once and appears everywhere. Built with a connection service where one fits, or directly where it doesn't.
AI automations for office work
Intake that reads a form or a voicemail and sorts it, scheduling confirmations, and draft answers to common emails. The wording of every message that goes to a customer is written and approved by you before it goes live; after that it sends on its own, and every run is logged.
Built for phones, on your accounts
Web apps that work in any browser on any phone; no app-store apps. Deployed to hosting and services in your name, with the code and the data yours. Hosting and the usage fees of any AI or data service the tool calls are billed to your account.
Fixed scope, milestones, support
A written spec and a fixed quote before the build, with milestones you can see working. After launch, optional support for changes and checks, with its own terms in writing.
How we do it
How we do it.
Three steps to get going, then the work and a report every month.
- Step 1
Scope it
A scoping call about the task that eats the most hours, a look at the tools and data involved, and sample data from you. We write a one-page spec of what the tool does, what it connects to and what “done” looks like, with a fixed quote.
- The task measured in hours a week
- A one-page spec you approve
- Fixed quote and milestones in writing
- Step 2
Build in milestones
The tool is built in stages you can try on your own phone: first the core flow, then the connections, then the polish. Your office tests each stage on live jobs before we move to the next.
- Each milestone tested by your office
- Built on accounts in your name
- Changes agreed in writing as they come up
- Step 3
Launch and hand over
Deployed to your hosting, connected to your live tools, and run alongside the old way for a while. Every automatic message is approved by you before it goes live. Then a short guide, the logins, and optional support if you want us to keep it running.
- Runs beside the old way first
- Guide and logins handed over
- Optional support, terms in writing
What you get each month
Optional support
If you take support, small changes, new fields and the odd new connection are covered, and we fix anything that breaks when a tool you use changes.
Checks that it still runs
A monthly check that every connection is still delivering, every automation ran, and nothing silently stopped when a vendor updated their software.
Counted in your report
Leads from the calculator, bookings from the tool and hours saved by the automations, in your monthly report alongside your other channels.

Trades where this matters most.
Every trade gets found a little differently. These are the ones where this service tends to do the most.
- RemodelingA long decision. Helpful pages, project photos and reviews earn the shortlist.
- Auto repairDrivers search “near me” and pick the shop with the most recent, detailed reviews.
- CleaningFound on Google Maps, kept with follow-up. Weekly and biweekly clients come from showing up and staying in touch.
- MovingPeople compare a few quotes fast. A clear reply, with reviews to back it, wins.
Three promises
No surprises, in writing.
The same three promises on every plan, for every client.
The audit is free, no strings
You get the findings and the three fixes either way. If we're not the right fit, the audit is still yours.
You own your accounts
Your domain, content, Google Business Profile, analytics and accounts are always yours and stay in your name. If we part ways, any site we built is handed over or bought out on terms set in writing.
Terms in writing first
The plan, the price and the term are written down before any work starts. Term length depends on the work, and it's always on paper.
FAQ
Straight answers, up front.
What owners ask about custom builds & automations before they start.
How can a small business use AI automation?
Start with the tasks that are repeated, rule-based and typed by hand: sorting new leads, confirming appointments, answering the same five emails, pulling the weekly numbers. AI handles the sorting and the first draft of the wording; you approve every message before it goes live, and after that it sends on its own. The aim is hours back every week, with you still running the business.
What business tasks can be automated?
Anything that follows the same steps every time: moving a lead from a form into your job software, sending confirmations and reminders, chasing quotes, syncing customers to accounting, building the monthly report. If someone in your office can describe the steps, it can usually be automated between the tools you already have.
What is a quote calculator, and does it bring leads?
A form on your site where a customer enters the job details (size, material, access) and gets a price range built from your rules, then leaves their contact details to get the full quote. Plenty of visitors want a rough number before they call, and the calculator turns them into leads with their job details already filled in. It works as a tool and a way to collect leads at the same time.
Does a person check what the automation sends to customers?
Every automated message is written and approved by you before it goes live. After that it sends on its own, and every run is logged so you can see what went out. Where AI writes a first draft of the wording, you still approve it before it is switched on. Anything that needs a judgment call, like a final quote, stays with you.
How much does a custom tool cost?
It depends on what it does and what it connects to, so we don't publish prices. After a scoping call we send a one-page spec with a fixed quote and milestones; nothing starts until you approve it. Hosting and the usage fees of any AI or data service the tool calls are billed to your account, so you can see exactly what they are.
Do you build mobile apps?
We build web apps that work on any phone in the browser, and they can be added to the home screen like an app. We don't build app-store apps: they cost more, take longer to update, and your customers don't want to install one just to book a repair.
Can you connect my job software to my accounting or marketing tools?
Usually, yes. Most job software, accounting tools, spreadsheets and texting tools offer connections we can build on, either through a connection service or directly. We check what your tools allow during scoping, and tell you before the quote if something can't be connected.
Who owns the tool after it's built?
Your domain, content, Google Business Profile, analytics and accounts are always yours and stay in your name. If we part ways, any site we built is handed over or bought out on terms set in writing. For a custom tool, that also means it runs on hosting in your name, the code and data are yours, and it keeps running if we part ways.
